When

O'Reilly ETel (Emerging Telephony) Conference 2007 took place February 27th – March 1st 2007

Where

O'Reilly ETel 2007 took place in San Francisco, California at the San Francisco Airport Marriott.

Our presence at the event:

Tim Panton presented Mexuar's applet phone, Corraleta™, enabling any browser to call any phone anywhere in the world.

There is a rich vein of web applications that benefit from the addition of our most natural communication medium -- person-to-person speech.

Seamlessly integrating into "Web 2.0" pages, Mexuar's Corraleta™ gives the casual browser the ability to speak to a community or individual by creating a VoIP call in seconds. The nature of the call is up to the owner of the website -- from "classic VoIP", through anonymous online dating, to niche applications like "hands-free" knitting forums.

Tim Panton demonstrated and illustrated some uses of Corraleta™ and described how IAX (Asterisk's native VoIP protocol) makes it all possible. He also challenged the audience to come up with new and innovative uses of this technology in their own areas.
